BRUSHES

reflections for both photoshop pictures
I liked doing both assignments using photoshop. The funnest one was using the brushes because you feel more freely setting up a composition and using different colors. The softening the face was a good project too because now i know that u can erase imperfections and make it look more like a magazing style. I decided to use colors opposite from what i was wearing and for my third color i decided to use a color similar to my dress but darker, so it can stick out and be different so it wouldnt be all blues. i think it looks good with the red because it creates a balance and makes it stand out. i would like to create more brushes to set them up and mess around putting them in different compositions.Thursday, February 4, 2010
STUDIO LIGHT

Studio lighting was an easy process taking the photographs and thinking of portraits that would look classy and good. The hard part of all of this was the printing room. I think the mistake was that we choose black background rather than white which would have looked better. Since we chose black it was hard to destinguish dark things like his hair, shirt, and the other half of his face. In the printing room i had to let less light so the image wouldnt have looked so blown out. The first one i did was to bright because the light was to low, so i had to use a brighter light, and when i did it got darker and the lines separating his hair and shirt from the background dissapeared and it kind of blends in. In the end what i do like about this image is the contrast it shows, and how classic the portrait looks. Next time when we decide to do this project i will decide to use a white background just how the teacher recomended we should of used.

I thought this procces of putting these for images together was a very fun experience. At first i thought it wasng going to look good because i was looking at the pictures as singl, but when i saw them all together i thought it was a very fun process to do, also i thought it looked funny. I never imagined before that you can make yourself look different just by adding different pieces of clothing or changing your hair. This was fun just thinking the four different kind of looks we wanted to got for. I decided to make one of them a preppy person, a cow girl or souther girl, a glamourous rockstar, and last a oldies hippie. What distingueshes them would be how i changed my hair and shir, and just a little bit the make up. On the top two (preppy and cowgirl) i decided to smile because of the personality those stero types have, very bubbly and smiley. On the bottom two i decided not to smile since rockstars are known for being troublesomes and their bad attitude so i thought it would look different if i didnt smile instead. In the oldies i could have smiled but many old photographs ive seen people didnt smile as much. This was an easy process copying and pasting the images in photoshop, and that was the even easiest part. i enjoyed doing this process and seeing how it came out looking.

This is my cover to my sequencing book titiled "Trajic Friendship". I decided to use an image that i use in the story but it was an extra. This image is basicly about the three people shown in it, and you can tell a girl is stuck in the middle between these two friends. At first i decided to tear the picture and make a collage in the front were you would have to guess what its about. But then Aja helped me and sugested it would look better if i put the picture back in the torn pieces. So thats why the image is put back together. Secon i had already decided i wanted to add color into this little book and i thought red would help the whole classy look. So i decided to splatter the paint all over making a look like a more exagerating to the trajic theme. For the font i decided to do cursive, it was a good idea but the lettering didnt come out all that good because of the paper, but i like the title i chose.

Sequencing was maybe the photoshoot were it involved the most thinking. Usually i always have an idea of a photo and i snap it, but this time it had to be more than one photo and when i put all of them together it had to make sense. I had many ideas of different storys, but a mest up love and friendship crossed my head with good images. My story was about two bestfriends that meet a girl(Ruby) and one of them(Carlos) becomes her boyfriend. Later the girlfriend is no longer so close to the boyfriend and in the back of the couple is the other best friend(Rigo). As he starts getting into the picture too. Later as you can see in the top left image Rigo goes behind his bestfriends back and goes out with the girlfriend(Ruby), but carlos has no idea. As he later finds out, Carlos chooses not to be friends with Rigo and theres a big seperation between them, with Ruby in the middle of it. Sequence is also a great process that lets your imagination flow in many different ways. I would love to start making other sequencing intresting stories.

LASOO TOOL
I think the process of this digital assignment was different and in the begining very stressful, but in the end it looked just like i wanted it too. When i started i had a lot of trouble with the lasso tool, but in a way it seemed sort of simple, i just thought it was harder and i stressed out. After i decided to copy and paste and it was not how i wanted to do it so i had to grab the whole image and paste it onto the sky i wanted to show. I chose the sunrise sky because i thought it would look interesting with the structure of the temple thing. How i set it up it looks like a dreamy place and weird but it makes it look cool. After i had pasted the image i had to zoom in and begin erasing the details so i can put the sunset good. i would work again with the lasso tool and now i got more experience to use it so i wont give up fast, and make other creations too.
